A flurry of activity

It's been an exciting, active few days for the birds in the garden. The black cockies have been hanging around, making their presence felt. They fly from tree to tree, calling out to each other, and watch us from the safety of the higher branches. The neighbour's pine trees are a source of great delight.
The sparrows fly en masse from tree to tree and onto the roof in their usual commitment to replicating peak hour traffic. They are beginning the explore the plants on the deck and are competition for the fairy wrens. The fairy wrens continue to be busy being busy.
The honey eaters are flying into the tall flowers and taking the roller coaster ride to and fro as they try to get the nectar. We even found a new one in the back garden, a beautiful olive green with white markings. It is slightly bigger than the others and when it flew onto the Kangaroo Paw, it bent the stem right back down onto the ground. We think it is a Strong Billed Honeyeater.
The Golden Whistler is still loving himself in the mirrors but is now hanging around on the windowsills stealing bugs out of the spider webs.
It's truly a magic time!Added to this the pond is alive with our baby fish who are not so little anymore. We have to feed them every day or they will eat our plants!
