European Goldfinch

We have been busy creating a pond with a rock pool and waterfall. An unexpected reward for out efforts is that two delightful European Goldfinches flit in and out of the rock pool. They are not still for long so spying and admiring them is a chance encounter. They are small with bright red and yellow markings and are a rare occurence in our garden. They dive into the water, have a frantic dip and are off again. Now that we have our outhouse to sit and enjoy the pond, we will be armed with the camera to try and capture them on film, so to speak!
